Sports Photography-Action

There’s nothing I love more than being in the middle of all the action.

Capturing some of the best athletes in Texas and the nation is something I would not trade for the world. Sports are poetry in motion, and the opportunity I was given to not only showcase that for my school’s team but teams across the state has truly been a blessing. The rawness, the physicality and the story to be told in between it all is what I live for and what I try to show in my work.

Cypress Ranch senior shooting guard Jaylen Bernard slams one in against the Bridgeland Bears at Bridgeland High School on Jan. 28, 2022.

Bridgeland senior linebacker Zachary Miller goes airborne as he leads his team out of the tunnel for a bi-district playoff game against Klein Collins at the Berry Center on Nov. 11, 2022.

The More You Know

What I’ve learned from sports action photography

  • To adjust my shutter speed to capture fast-paced action

  • Knowing what ISO and aperture to use in different stadiums and times of the day

  • To pay close attention to my white balance with fluorescent white stadium lights and yellow gyms
